Sunny after rain
When making this piece of music, I wanted to give the audience a feeling of listening to a story. At the beginning of the story, the protagonist’s phone vibrated to make people guess who called him, and then the phone was not answered. So the caller sent a text message, but the protagonist ignored it, and he started running, and the music became more rushed, suggesting that there were dark clouds. When the atmosphere reached its peak, everything calmed down and began to play piano music, and Accompanied by the sound of rain, the more and more rapid melody later represented that the rain was getting heavier and heavier. After that, the rain stopped and all kinds of dormant animals began to move, which represented the rain and the sky was clear. The final mobile phone ringtone adopts the method of echoing before and after, reflecting that the mood and music of the protagonist have initially changed greatly. This music is dedicated to everyone who is experiencing difficulties due to the epidemic, and I hope that in the days to come, everyone can overcome the difficulties. After I made this piece of music, Tom thought that the volume of my ambient sound and white noise sound was too loud, which affected the sound of my instrument, so I improved it.
Gaming Era
In this semester, I have been researching how to make electronic music more arousing people’s emotions, so I have made some attempts in my weekly homework. In the constant attempts, I realized that I can combine a song Music is told as a story. This is also the source of inspiration for my music. I divide my music into cause, passage and end. For example, the music I just played, he tells Super Mario's breakthrough in the game world. The process, at first, Mario said let’s go, and then I added some classic super Mario sound effects, such as the sound effects of gold coins and the sound effects of death. I created a chord and played it with different instruments, representing Mario has passed many levels, each instrument is a level, and I simulated Mario's jumping sound with a fast electric piano sound, so that people who listen to music can find the memories of playing Super Mario. So I think the main reason why this music can quickly arouse the emotions of people listening to music is because this music has a sense of story. So the name of my EP is Tell a story with music because every piece of my music is a story. At the same time, I also got the answers I wanted in the process of making music. Music with storytelling can more stimulate the emotional resonance of the audience.
Friends
The music is inspired by the Japanese animation "Pokémon". He tells the process of the protagonist and his Pokémon Pikachu when they met and became partners. The overall production follows the emotional line of the two partners. At the beginning of the music, I used a slower melody to reflect the cautious interaction process that was not familiar to each other at the beginning. Later, I changed the rhythm to show how the two friends were acquainted with each other after they were acquainted with each other. In the last part of the music, I smoothed the music to show that the friendship between the two partners has become indestructible.
Escape The Ground(グランドエスケープ Remix)
This music is inspired by the movie "Children of the Weather". The main plot of this music tells that when a boy is very frustrated, a girl appears in his life to encourage him, and finally make the boy out of frustration. I used a few lyrics from the episode of this movie to remix. These lyrics mean "Don't be afraid, don't stand still, go through the darkness, we can definitely do it". In the chorus part, I deliberately lowered the volume of the accompaniment to highlight the lyrics of the chorus, because I think sometimes it is the shout that can awaken people's power more than pure music. Because of the epidemic, friends and classmates around me have been affected to varying degrees. I hope that the music I made can help them encourage each other and face difficulties. After I made this piece of music, Tom thought that my musical vocals and guitar were in a similar frequency range, so I needed to lower some of the high frequencies in the guitar. I improved on this.
